Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, Row NS has canceled our first on-water regatta of the season, the Ice Breaker Regatta, scheduled for Saturday, May 29, 2021. While this is very unfortunate news, we are looking to offer a Virtual Ice Breaker Event in its place to engage anyone in Nova Scotia, provide an opportunity for competition, but most importantly have fun and stay active. In typical Ice Breaker Regatta fashion, in all events, participants will complete 4.3km, similar to the Around the Lake course on Lake Banook. Recognizing that in our current state, everyone has access to different equipment we are offering four ways to engage with this virtual event – row, erg, run or bike. For the ultimate weekend warrior looking for a challenge – compete in the ergometer, run and bike events for a cumulative time.
- Row– see restrictions below in italics
- Ergometer
- Run
- Bike
- Ultimate Weekend Warrior

Any money made above our expenses will help Row NS continue our work in growing and developing rowing in Nova Scotia. Our recommended participant fee is $10 however please feel free to give as little or as much as you are comfortable with.

We recognize that the fairness of this event is null due to the difference in location and conditions of each piece – this is more a form of friendly competition that we are hoping all members can use as an opportunity to push themselves, stay active and have fun as part of the rowing community.
