Vision
To provide Nova Scotia rowers and coaches a pathway to excellence from local competition to the Olympic stage.
Mission
Row Nova Scotia’s Provincial Team will work with all of it’s partners to provide a world class athlete and coach development system. The system will be athlete focused, coach driven and IST and admin supported. Provincial Team members will be supported from the late entry level of the sport through to the national and international levels of our sport by offering them the enhanced services they need when they need them in order to meet their full potential.
Provincial Team Participation Plan
Rowing is offered through a club-based system; athletes can enter into the club system as young as 13 but most athletes enter around the age of 14-15. Rowing therefore supports young people developing their fundamental movement skills in a variety of sports prior to entering into rowing so that sport-specific skills can be developed by the club system. After this entry level, athletes have an opportunity to move through the LTAD rowing pathway, either along the high performance track or into the active for life side of the sport.
