A successful bidding process has led to a new training home for rowing athletes in the province. Row Nova Scotia is pleased to announce a multi-year partnership with North Star Rowing Club of Dartmouth, N.S. as the new location for outdoor training for the Nova Scotia Provincial Team (NSPT).
“This agreement will solidify and consolidate much of the hard work that has been completed over the last 6 years in developing and strengthening the provincial team program,” says Pat Cody, provincial team head coach. “This agreement will provide a central location for athletes to warm-up, launch and train and maintain an efficient and effective training environment for years to come.”
“We are pleased to welcome the provincial athletes into our boathouse space,” says Bob Sawler, President of North Star Rowing Club. “We welcome the dedication and enthusiasm of the athletes and coaches as they train to make Nova Scotia a star on the national rowing stage.”
In recent years, NSPT rowers have achieved national results including a sixth place finish at the 2017 Canada Summer Games, medals at the National Rowing Championships and selection on National Team programs. This agreement will continue to move Row Nova Scotia forward by giving our Provincial Program athletes an optimal environment to achieve success while inspiring all rowers, both recreational and competitive.
