RowNS will be offering the Level 1 Umpire Clinic Feb 25, 9 – 3 PM at Sport Nova Scotia, 5516 Spring Garden Rd, Halifax.
The new Level 1 Clinic is the first in the pathway that leads to becoming an RCA Umpire. It will consist of an introduction to RCA’s mandates, review of the new Umpire Development pathway, brief review of the Rules of Racing, introduction to the duties Umpires perform, equipment, terms, duties that the new Level 1 Associate will perform and self evaluation review. Associates will come away with a better understanding of what duties and rolls Umpires play at regattas and will be able to assist umpires in various duties at regattas.
The Level 1 Clinic is open to anyone who would like to start on the pathway to becoming an RCA Umpire, to people who just want to help volunteer at regattas or to anyone who would like a better understanding of what goes on at regattas. (Commitment to becoming a RCA Umpire is not required to attend the level 1 Clinic.) Parents, friends, juniors, rowers; all are welcome! The Level 1 Clinic is free to attend.
