Seven Nova Scotian rowers are heading to Burnaby, BC, next month to compete at the 2018 National Rowing Championships, where they will race against national, Olympic, Paralympic and World medallists.
The selected athletes underwent a rigorous trialling process in order to be named to the Nova Scotia team. “Selecting a team is one of the hardest things a coach or committee has to do,” said Pat Cody, provincial coach. “All of our provincial athletes have tremendous skill, and I am pleased with the calibre of this year’s team. I look forward to their performances in Burnaby.”
The team that will compete for Nova Scotia next month includes:
Andrew Todd, North Star Rowing Club – PR3 Men’s 1x

“Row Nova Scotia is thrilled to have these seven very competitive athletes representing the province at the 2018 RCA National Rowing Championships,” says Katie Edwards, President of Row Nova Scotia. “Amongst our athletes going to BC are a Paralympian, a world medallist, and several Canada Games athletes.”
Canadian National Champions will be crowned at this regatta, and given Nova Scotia’s recent successes on the national and world stages, Row Nova Scotia is confident that our athletes will be competitive with the nation’s best rowers.
